To Boston: With Love, Florida (By Way of NY)

Standard

Vintage dress (Gypsy Nation); Seychelles sandals; vintage belt and Dooney & Burke bag; House of Harlow sunnies (similar online at Crush Boutique); Vanessa Mooney Pyramid ring and ring from necklace; custom etc… charm necklace; Alex & Ani bracelets; Jane Tran ponytail set (Viola Lovely).

So New York beat Boston in the Superbowl on Sunday and of course, as a Giants fan, I have a bit of New York pride at the moment. Yet, I still have a soft spot for my home away from home, Boston.

I visited this great city last week working on Boston Magazine’s spring fashion issue and was impressed how surprisingly stylish Beantown really is! Here are some of my favorite sartorial discoveries:

Viola Lovely
Courtney, the editor of Boston Magazine, introduced me to one of my new favorite shops, Viola Lovely. The owners create lots of unique collaborations with some amazing designers like Yigal Azrouël and much of the proceeds go to charities like breast cancer awareness. I ended up leaving with not only great pieces for my shoot, but the best dry shampoo from Serge Normant and cute ponytail elastics by Jane Tran (Chan Luu’s sister) that look as cute on my wrist as on my hair.

Crush Boutique
This Beacon Hill gem, along with Moxie shoes and Good jewelry, is one spot I have to stop by while in Boston. The two lovely ladies who run this shop carefully edit the cutest and still affordable pieces each season from everyone like Ali Ro, Parker and BB Dakota to those I don’t want to admit I love like Nicole Richie’s vintage-inspired line, House of Harlow 1960. Now Crush is opening an outpost on trendy Newbury Street next week, so I can visit them while shopping at some of my other favorite stores too.

Alex and Ani
Speaking of trendy Newbury Street, I was delighted to find that my new sentimentally special bracelet designs can be found at their own namesake shop there. The “Tree of Life” charm and initial charm on my gold energy infused Alex and Ani bracelets are symbols with a lot of meaning with my childhood BFF that we both will be rocking while thinking of each other. Maybe we’ll add more to the mix in years to come.

Oh Boston, we’ve got to stop meeting like this.
